For 1986 the Shadow 750 was reworked in the markets that still received it, in line with the updated Japanese Shadow: a new, longer and lower frame with more rake, a lower seat and revised styling, while keeping the 745 cc 45-degree V-twin with offset crankpins, hydraulic valve adjusters, six-speed gearbox and shaft drive. Low-maintenance touches such as electronic ignition, automatic cam-chain tensioners and a brushless alternator carried over. Germany received the last examples in 1987.
